The cottage

1151 Grand is a fully renovated two-bedroom bungalow for four guests, on one level. It has air conditioning, a private washer and dryer, and off-street parking for two cars parked one behind the other.

One bedroom has a king bed and the other a queen bed. Both bedrooms have smart TVs. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a microwave. It opens toward the dining area and a large private back patio. A shared barbecue sits just outside the patio gate.

The cottage has heating and Wi-Fi, and a laptop-friendly workspace.

The neighborhood

The beach and the bay are both about four blocks away, in different directions. The private back patio is there when you come back to dry off, and it is set up for the barbecue.

Coffee, restaurants, the beach, and the bay are a walk from the house. Pacific Beach has the only boardwalk in San Diego that runs along both the beach and the bay. The Catamaran Hotel, and its dinner ferry, are within a walk.

By car, the house is about 10 minutes from Sea World, about 15 minutes from downtown, about 15 to 20 minutes from Mission Valley and Fashion Valley, about 20 minutes from the Torrey Pines coastal hike, and about 45 minutes from the border at Tijuana.

You can paddleboard or kayak on the bay, surf with Pacific Surf School or Surfer Girls Surf School, snorkel or kayak at La Jolla Cove, and bike or hike at Mission Bay and the boardwalk. On summer nights, Sea World's fireworks can be seen from the bayside boardwalk.

House rules

Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and checkout is at 10:00 AM. When no one is checking out that morning, you may arrive as early as 11:30 AM. If a guest is leaving the same day, you can drop bags, and the cottage will be ready once it has been cleaned.

Please keep the evening peaceful. Noise should stop after 9:00 PM on weekdays and after 10:00 PM on weekends.

The stay is for the number of guests booked. Please don't bring extra people unless it was agreed ahead of time.

Please leave the furniture where you found it, and don't leave trash throughout the house. This close to the beach, a little wear happens. The house is refreshed over time, not rebuilt after every stay.
